Lela's Story

Life After graduation, I went to a Community College in American Samoa and learned a lot about my father and our family "back home." I graduated, came back to California and bummed it for a while and then lucked out by landing a job on the docks. I've been a longshoreman for about 11 years. e high school all over again only there isn't an age limit! I love it.... I got married in 2005, we bought a house in the South Bay and had our first child in April of this year. I can't believe I have been out of high school for almost 20 years... I still have dreams where I'm late for class or I forgot my locker combination and can't get my books!
