Karen's Story

Life My life has been wonderful. I have three great kids and eight fantastic grandchildren. The one thing that's hard is that my kids and grandchildren all live in different states. We had a fun, fantastic reunion this summer in Tulsa, OK, at my son's home. Everyone flew in and we were able to spend five days together. We had so much fun and I took some great pictures, and yes, of course, I scrapbook. With eight grandchildren I have alot to scrapbook! I've worked for Tempe School District for over 25 years in various positions and am now in the special ed department as Administrative Assistant for the Director. I've truly enjoyed my career at TD3 and look forward to retiring in two years. At that time, I plan to move to Washington state, and live by one of my daughters. From there I plan to make the visits to my other children a little longer than one or two weeks. I also plan to spend time with my sisters who still live in Rockland County. I have been married more than once, but am now single and I'm finding I'm really enjoying the single life. No...Expand for more
t that my life is filled every hour with activity, but I just enjoy being able to do whatever I want to do and go where ever and whenever I please. I enjoy going out with friends, dancing, shopping, reading, scrapbooking, and of course work does take the greater part of my day. I am a Hospice volunteer and have been for five years. I have learned so much from my patients and their families and feel like I am so honored to go into their house and share with them a very personal part of their life. It has been one of the most rewarding experiences in my life. My children are a very important part of my life, and one thing that is so important to me is that my grandchildren get to spend time with me. I feel that it is not always the material things we have in life that are so important, rather it is the immaterial things, such as love, joy, happiness, health and family that are what really matters. I am so blessed to have my family, they are always there for me as I am for them. My life could not be any better, nor could I be any happier. Life is great!!
