Kimberly's Story
I hoped that friends remember me as a person that they like to hang with. Even though I was unattractive skinny bean pole. I always wanted to be a gymnast when I grew up. My family thought that I was a crazy idea. Well at least my brothers thought so. As it turns out, they were right. I'm a great teacher, and my students love me.
Now how I blow off steam? I read and clean. I get into a cleaning mode. This drives my son crazy. Once everything is cleaned and lemony fresh. I read, a good juicy book. After cleaning and then get into a good book. That usually relaxes me and then I fall into a comfortable sleep.
The wildest thing I every did in school. When I transferred to Florida Memorial in Miami. I arrived there on a basketball scholarship. I was never a drink (still not one), they had this ceremony were freshman had to drink a shot of Barcadi. Of course I didn't look at myself as a freshman, but they did because I was new to the team. Then I would find my dream home. I have this picture in my mind of the house that I want to have. Then I would make sure that my parents are taken care of. Because without them there would be no me. Then finally I would take the rest and put it in the bank. I would still continue to work, I feel that the mistake that people make when they come into a lot of money. This will keep me leveled.
I get one do over, what would I do differently? I know some people would say not marry the person they're not with anymore. But I wouldn't change that part of my life. Although he took me through the ringer, and left me in financial ruins. He also gave me my son. I was blessed with a handsome, and well behaved child. But the thing I would change is the transition from motherhood to teacher. I would have spent more time teaching my son or making sure he was on the right track during his elementary years, not during his high school years. Thats the one thing that I would do differently.
