Life
Married Leslie Gutman (Duane) in 1994. We have one son, Connor, born in 1997. We live in the Phoenix, Arizona area.

I am president and founder of Open Door Communications, a full-service public relations and communications company based in Phoenix, Ariz.
Open Door Communications was founded in 2000 on the belief that every client deserves to be treated like the only client and that high-level public relations and strategic communications should be open to businesses of every size. Past and present clients include General Dynamics C4 Systems, Trammell Crow Company, Atomic Comics, Best Western International, Full Circle Autowash, Raytheon Missile Systems, Microchip Technology and many more.
Prior to founding Open Door Communications, I was General Manager of Airport Customer Service Communications at Delta Air Lines in Atlanta, Ga. My background also includes five years of positions of increasing responsibility in communications at TRW Inc. in Sunnyvale, Calif., and jobs as an investor relations consultant, a magazine editor and a sports journalist.
I am a member of both the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) and the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), and served as president of IABC Phoenix in 2003-04. I earned my accreditation from IABC in 2002, a designation achieved by less than 5 percent of the organizationÂs 13,000 members worldwide. I am an alumni of Valley Leadership, was named as one of the ÂForty Under Forty up-and-coming community leaders by The Phoenix Business Journal, and am an advisory board member for the American Lung Association of Arizona. I am the author of Giving Time: Making A Difference in Your Community (Llumina Press, 2003) and am a longtime columnist and contributing writer for the Arizona Republic. My writing has also appeared in various publications including The Jewish News of Greater Phoenix, Ahwatukee Monthly and Raising Arizona Kids.
