Len's Story
Hello all you "Panthers!". I actually left Palmetto High in March of 1964 and joined the Navy. I volunteered for PBR''s (Patrol Boat River" duty. Trained in Coronado CA, and attended survival training and SEAL INDOC and ended up in country Vietnam in 64 and 65 inserting and extracting SEALS, and other Special Force units and getting involved in some pretty"Hairy Stuff". After that, I went to guided missile school, finished HS, got married to 1 of 2 high school sweethearts then went overseas again to serve on Intelligence gathering ships in the Pacific (TAGS 23) and at two Naval facilities in the SOSUS network (Antigua and Pacific Beach WA tracking Russian subs during the Cold War. Dade College and attended the U....finished school, and became a government contractor for the Navy for the next 10 years. I was married twice,(12 years and 9 years and have 3 beautiful daughters (Tiffany, Tambi and Rebecca) My oldest daughters are married and my youngest is in school getting her Doctorate after undergrad at CalState Northridge majoring in Kinesiology. She will be an Occupational Therapist.
Before retiring in 2001, I was a producer and director of corporate video productions/operations for California First bank and Foodmaker, Inc.
In retirement, I now coach youth football (35 years), edit sports videos and try to go on 2-3 cruises each year. Life is good. I would love to re-connect to anyone from school or the Navy.
