Len's Story
Life
I went to UC Berkeley, and came out with a bachelor's degree in Math, a master's degree in Statistics, and a wonderful wife name Jane. We were married in June of 1964, the day after graduation.
About a year later, we moved to Israel and lived on a kibbutz for a short time. In 1966, I went back to UC and studied Operations Research, coming out in 1969 with a PhD. er since.
In 1992, I did something that I had talked about for a long time -- I went back to school part time to study Computer Science, something I had been working in for about 30 years by then. Just to give myself a goal, I decided to go for a masters. Three years later, I was lucky enough to be able to go back full time and complete the program. It went without saying that I was older than every other student; but I was also older than every professor I had, too! A wonderful experience!!
Jane, my wife, and I are still both working full time. I am working for a small "eBusiness Intelligence" firm, Sagent Technology, in the middle of Silicon Valley. I enjoy it immensely -- just wish they would let me touch some code.
But I must be honest -- we look forward to retirement. In fact, I have been mentally ready for it for some time now.
