Lenora's Story

Life After leaving North Polk High School in Iowa in late 1970, I finished my Senior year and graduated from Republic High School in southwest Missouri. I still have many fond memories of my classmates from Elkhart Elementary, and North Polk Junior High, and High School in Iowa, and Missouri as well. I joined Classmates.com in hopes of reconnecting with some of the people I attended school with. After leaving Iowa in November of my senior year and moving to Missouri with my parents, I stayed in the area until I was 20 years old and met my first husband. We married in 1972 and moved to his home state of Ohio. We had one child in 1974, a son, Bryan. I returned to Missouri after I divorced, and met my soul mate and life partner in 1976, Bill. He is a native of Springfield, Missouri. We married in 1978 and now live in his home town. Since we married, we have lived in Missouri, Oklahoma, California, Arizona, and Las Vegas, Nevada (for approx. eight years). We have traveled to many interesting places all over the United States with my husband's line of work at that time (a broadcast consultant for radio and television stations). My husband was also, a local radio and television newscaster here in the late 60's and early 70's, (and drag strip announcer) and still on occasion, does voice overs for radio and television commercials. While living in Las Vegas, he owned and operated a computer company. I was in property management for some of the local apartment and condo communities there. I now work in...Expand for more
the retail business field here. He now, is a sales associate for a local marketing firm, and has a part time job at home as a reservations agent, booking hotel reservations for Las Vegas, Reno, Laughlin, and San Diego. Together, we have a photography business on the side and do wedding, modeling, family, and portrait photography, etc. Our son stilll lives in Las Vegas, and manages a high end men's clothing store at the Aladdin Hotel and Casino, Desert Passage shopping mall. We just became Grandparents for the first time January 2, 2007. We traveled to Las Vegas over the Holidays to welcome our Grandson, Robin Zane into the world. What an awesome experience it was, and a terrific way to spend a vacation! We moved back to Missouri in December of 1995, to be near our families. Our families live within close proximity to us, and we enjoy spending time with them. We still love traveling, especially the Southwest. We dearly love New Mexico, Arizona, Utah, Colorado, and Nevada. We hope to eventually relocate to one of these states, and be able to travel and explore many places we have not been to in the west, and live closer to our son, and of course, our first grandchild! I still enjoy visiting Iowa, and still have family there. It will always feel like home to me. I look forward to hearing from any of my classmates, and welcome anyone to contact me. I look forward to seeing all that are able to attend the North Polk High School, Class of 1971 - 40th reunion! Best Regards, Lenora (Bagley) Dillstrom
