Leo's Story
I attended Our Lady of Victory during the
school year 1940-1941. I don't suppose
there is anyone in the association who
goes back that far. Every day I walked
to and from our home on Herkimer Street.
As I was going to the school there was
a movie theater I passed on my left. For some reason I ...Expand for more
still remember a movie title I saw on the marquee, "A Girl, A Guy, and A Gob". I couldn't figure out what a "gob" was. I haven't heard the word "gob" (sailor) used in decades. In those days it was perfectly safe for a little boy to walk to school and back every day on the streets of Brooklyn.
