Leona's Story
I was born and raised in Austin, TX. I have 2 sisters and 2 brothers. I have lived in Austin through all my school years.
I have worked as a waitress, secretary, physical therapist, and a preschool teacher. Right now I am a grandmother.
I moved to Round Rock after marrying and had my third daughter. I have been in Round Rock for about 18 years now. I am a mother of three girls, Amanda, Elizabeth (Lizzy), and Abigail (Abby). Amanda and Lizzy have each given me a precious grandson, Montana and Ethan.
I have semi-retired. I stay at home and take care of my mother-in-law who is 86. I have been happily married for 30 years, to the same man! My husband, Dale, and I are into birdwatching. We travel all over to find birds not yet on our list....Expand for more
We have over 200 birds on our list so far. Our favorite is the painted bunting. Dale is thinking about retiring after working 30 years with the state.
I love to make things to give to people. I knit and croche and do about any craft there is. I love to cook for my family. I especially love to spend time with my grandbabies. Amanda and her family have been living with us since her husband got out of the military and being over in Iraq. They are planning to find a place of their own, some day! I don't mind them being there. I get to spend lots of time with my grandbaby, Ethan.
So, that's about the extent of my life. Spending time with family and helping when I can and hanging out with my best friend from school, Donna (Webb) DeGolier.
