Leona's Story
I currently live in Austin Texas with my husband George, and 3 grown children. I am a grandmother, and find it difficult to wrap my mind around the idea, of the abundance of love you're capable of feeling for your grandchildren!
I've owned and directed a daycare facility for the last 30 years, and believe I've found my calling in life. I love seeing through the eyes of a child. Being able to nuture and instill any goodness and respect for all, and hopefully help to create decent adults, is reward in itself.
Many have returned with their own children for me to care for. I consider that a blessing.
I'm actively involved in the Youth and Childrens Ministries at our church, and am currently attending college to get my CDA in Child Development.

h, but am thankful to be able to go back home once or twice a year to visit my family.
I especially miss the Koolaus, beaches, flowers and food, but mostly the warmth and Aloha of the people. Its not very 'warm' here.
I apologize in advance if I don't recognize some of you from school, but as I get older, my memory does too!
I would love to hear from anyone that may remember me through High School. I was never the popular, pretty or smart one, but I always tried to be kind.
I really only got noticed when people realized that Moe Keale was my Uncle, and IZ Kamakawiwaole was my first cousin. We grew up together and shared the same birthday, and I have a lot of memorabilia from him.
I'd like to think that I'm a nice enough person to be remembered on my own merits.
