Leonard's Story
I was actually of the class of '69' but chose to post-graduate in order to take chemistry and trig (late bloomer). To post-graduate, you have to get the principal to sign you application. I actually had to ask where Powell's office was ( too quiet and shy to get into trouble). As a senior, I drove my first car (a green '69 Camaro). I was a Key Club member my Jr. and Sr. years.
I am a UH grad, with a BBA. I spent the first 20 years after HS in sales (10 inside, 10 outside). If you knew me, that may seem like an odd choice, (remember, quiet and shy) . Well, I had to get over that quickly in order to survive in sales. It was good for me.
My last 20+ years were spent as a Financial Accountant for an O&G E&P company (got tired of traveling sales)...Expand for more
Shortly after high school, I met and married a sweetheart from Louisiana (Donna.). In May, we celebrated 42 years. We have 2 sons (Jason and Nathan), and three grandkids (Abigail, 10, Madison, 8, and Stephen, 7).
I retired in June 2015, and enjoy golf, biking, jogging, hiking, shooting pool, but mostly spending time with those incredible grandkids. Donna retired May this year, but went back working contract. We are both very involved in TWUMC (as is our youngest son, Nathan) in music ministry.
We have traveled extensively through the the US, thanks in part to Nathan's 3 years of Drum Core (Bluecoats) and truly love spending time in the mountains.
I have two sisters who also graduated from SHHS (Melba, class 67, and Bernice, class of 71).
