WOW, I read that today and it sure sounded dull and stuffy! What the hell was I thinking when I wrote that? All of it is true, but there is a lot more to the last 30 years than writing books and making babies. Let's start with the fun stuff. I spent the last seven summers pit crewing for a friend's SCCA H Production race car. We raced at Sears Point, Laguna Seca and Thunderhill, and in 2002 we won the Pacific Coast Road Racing Championship. Stopped racing about a year ago when he discovered golf, which is cheaper and a lot less likely to get you killed in a fiery crash.
Still into music, and I still drum regularly with a church band and a local blues band. Just recorded our second CD, and we have 6 originals prepped for the next one. It's fun, but not a money maker or any kind of a...Expand for more
shot at stardom, just fun.
Still ride bikes, but switched to mountain when we moved to Reno, since the roads and the drivers are seriously crappy, we decided that our chances were better in the mountains than on the streets.
Still get to San Diego several times a year, since almost all of our family is there. Every time I get down there I am amazed an how Lakeside has changed and how the city has grown. I miss the old Lakeside, but I appreciate that the growth has brought in more businesses and customers for the existing businesses. Reno is a lot like San Diego of the 60s. Growth and property value increases are crazy, but it's still a pretty decent place to live, and the University is a great place to work.
There, that sounds more like a life, not a resume.

Just as things look like they have settled down, they get right back to the usual craziness. Just took over a new position here at the University, serving as Associate Director of the Grant Sawyer Center for Justice Studies. We do a number of things, but mostly get grant money to do research on things of interest to the Criminal Justice system, and support Grad students while they finish their degrees. Music has slowed back because of this, but I still manage to play out once a month or so, depending on the season and how busy the local clubs are. If anyone wants to drop me a line, just Google-search my name and the University of Nevada; my e-mail should pop right up.
