Lesa's Story

Life I'm living in Arlington, TX. Have lived in or near the Metroplex for about 12 yrs now. I work in downtown Ft. Worth, and have been with the same company for over 8 yrs. My daughter Tiffany is 23, married, lives in Burleson, TX., and has two beautiful kids of her own. Brianna is 5 and Brandon (named after his Uncle) was 4 in May. They are a handful, but love spending time with MiMi! (Hey...I'm only 43.....just can't get use to being called Grandma....so I chose MiMi instead. LOL) Bri started Kindergarten this year (2009) and Brandon is in Pre-K. Gosh, makes me feel old!!! My son Brandon is 22 and he's a Marine! He is currently stationed in Afghanistan. He has no fear of serving his country. Makes me proud...but at the same time scares me to death....with the state of our country and all. Please remember to pray for our troops! I've been single for almost 4 yrs now, and I'm loving it. Sounds terrible to say that I've been married 3 different times. Tracy and I grew apart after 15 yrs. We still speak, and have maintained a pretty good friendship. After divorcing Tracy, I married Johnny Grumbles and was wonderfully happy. He got me involved in bowling, which I truly enjoy. Even bowled league for several years. (Notice I didn't say I was good at it....just that I enjoyed it. LOL) We traveled together, and I thought life couldn't get any better. He died of a massive stroke at work a short 2 1/2 yrs after we were married.....that was April 2003. My life was forever changed by that experience. I met a man named Chris Goodwin on the internet, and we had a whirlwind courtship. We married in September 2004. Things moved much faster th...Expand for more
an what they should have, and I didn't take the time to really get to know him, or his family. Turned out not to be a good thing. He was verbally and emotionally abusive. I finally decided I couldn't take it anymore, and I left him. That was in October 2005. I rented me a little apartment, and actually started enjoying life again. Sure was nice to be able to do what I wanted, when and if I wanted, and not have anyone to answer to. First time in my adult life I only had to take care of me and only me. I learned to enjoy my freedom, and being alone. I've gained a good deal of weight since high school, but oh well, stuff happens. I'm happy, and don't have any health issues....so that's all that matters. The older I've gotten, the more I've learned to loosen up and enjoy life. I still have a bit of an adventerous side to me, and love to have a good time. God has blessed me with some pretty amazing friends, who have stood by me through thick and thin. Dating in my 40's is nothing like when I was back in High School. If nothing else, the 'dating game' has provided me and my friends with some good laughs along the way. Guess that pretty much covers what I've been up to since High School. Would love to hear from anyone who would like to contact me. I've managed to connect with a few old school mates, and that's been fun. It's funny how other people remember things from back in the day that you had forgotten. LOL Would love to hear from anyone that wants to drop me a line. You can find me at the hot place with my first initial and last name (grumbles...not garringer) Everything lowercase. Just put your name in the subject line. .
