Lesley's Story

Greetings fellow Old Owen Sounders. I've been in Toronto since 1976 after I graduated from O.S.C.V.I. Spent 11 years at TD Visa, 15 years in Hi-tech Sales & Marketing with several companies such as Borland, McAfee (Network Associates) Konica Business Products, Paco Electronics, Bell Microproducts. In 2004 I decided that I'd rather be a Lab than a Pit Bull and sent myself to College. Now I'm a Personal Support Worker working with seniors in the community, specializing in people with Cognitive Issues and Palliative Care. Good-bye Am Ex Expense Account but Hello heart-warming experiences. I adore doing this. Good thing I got my toys when I was earning decent wages and commision. Still have my roller skates but am running out of rinks. Having a back operation in 2006 didn't help. Played baseball for 20 years until my quad muscles gave out. hitter) Still listening to The Supremes, David Bowie, Supertramp, Eagles, Nazareth and Disco mixed in with more modern stuff as I've gotten older. I've just had to replace all of them from L.P.'s to 8-track to cassette to CD's. It's weird seeing my old school chums these days. I remember them from the seventies, and now we're all middle-aged with executive high-lights and bi-focals for the most part. I get up about once a month to visit my Mom at Summit Place. I'm sure glad that she is being cared for in Owen Sound by the people I went to school with rather than down in the big smoke. When I look at that big empty space where the old high school was, I can still feel the thousands of souls that went through those "hallowed halls". Haven't been to the new school on purpose. Check in and send me an update. It's fun to see where we've gone after 32 years.
