have one son. I lost my younger son to our broken health care system on April 1, 2008. I'm a 58-year-old aging hippie, still passionate about social justice issues. Health Care reform has been a particular passion since my younger son, Mike, died of colon cancer. He should have been having colonoscopies every year because he was at high risk, but he couldn't get them. So, when the cancer was finally discovered, he was stage 3. I have another son, Danny, who's 38, married to Jennifer and the father of four children, Lauren, 19, Peyton, 18, Meghan, 15 and Trey, 11. I'm a sucker for animals and other people's children. I teach high school Sunday school. I love to bake bread (kneading is such a therapeutic activity) and make beer (because it tastes so good). I also find crocheting and quilting therapeutic.".
