Leslie's Story
After graduation I spent 6 yrs. in Army National Guard, and worked on missile base in Felicity,Oh.I then went into my profession, truck driving.I drove and owned my own for 35 yrs.During that time I married my soulmate and was married for 29 yrs.before she passed away in 2002,from cancer. She had 3 children which I'm proud to say clame me to be dad.In 2004 I had a brain anurism burst and I guess I'm one of only very few to live through.I was very lucky that I was able to over come that very well. But it stopped me from working,so I'm now retired.I'm very proud of my record driving trucks, about 4 1/2 million miles and never had an accident.I still love to drive and miss being on the road alot, but having an anurism stops me from ever drivin...Expand for more
g over-the- road again. That was bad enough, but it also caused me to loose my buisness, and my home. The doctors said I would be in the hospital for 3 mos.but I only spent 3 wks..It took 3 mos. and many brain scans to find the vessil that burst, and then I had brain surgery. The doctors said I would be in the hospital for at least 3-4 wks.but I went home in 3 days.I have a wonderfull daughter that took me in,and I now live with her.Because of dead brain cells I had to retrain other cells to take over some of the jobs of the dead ones.I've done so well at that,no one can tell. One luky guy, would'nt ya say.I never beleived in giving up,and I'm living proof, attitude does make a difference.God said it wasn't my time and who am I to arque that.
