Life I moved to Texas in 1980 with my family. I met my husband, Michael, on April 1, 1990. We were married on April 21, 1991. On November 16, 1996, while I was in graduate school for Family and Marriage Therapy, I gave birth to our twins, Rachael and Joshua. Joshua was born with a heart defect that required open heart surgery. Before they operated, though, they wanted him to gain some weight. There were many complications, but we were able to keep him alive to have surgery in October 1997. He was all of 11 lbs. Since then, he has grown like a weed and is doing fantastic. He has some minor limitations--no contact sports or lifting weights, but he is a happy, eneregetic boy. Rachael has smiled since the day she was born. She is very healthy and a joy to us both. They keep us very busy. I have had some health issues myself, and I am currently still regaining my strength back and trying not to "over do" it. I am starting to write some books, and have several other projects that I am working on. I have not returned to graduate school yet. My parents live 2 blocks away from us and we love seeing them everyday. They have had some serious health issues, so everyday is a blessing.
