Leslie's Story
Life
Well...... I taught second grade for 5 years. Then I became a stay at home mom who is never at home!! I have a daughter, Lauren, who is in first grade and a son, Connor, who is 3 years old. Between carpooling both kids to and from school and activities, I volunteer to help out at Lauren's school. Connor is in preschool so I "rush around" to get "normal" chores and errands done. My husband, Shawn is a corporate pilot for Nissan. He stays just as busy. However, I wouldn't change it for anything. I do plan on going back to work on a Masters Degree once both children are in school full time. I would like to go back into teaching because I truly enjoyed working with students and helping them learn. Right now my biggest teaching job is to teach my own children. Shawn and I have realized that parenting is by far the hardest job that we both have ever done. But it is also the most rewarding. We keep ourselves busy on the weekends by dining out, renting movies, or going to movies. If the weather is nice we like to go walking or hiking at nearby parks, etc.. I enjoy decorating and gardening. We have been into landscaping our yard the last few years. Hopefully we will live long enough to actually see some of the trees grow tall!! LOL!
We live in Murfreesboro,TN and have lived here for almost 5 years. Before that we lived in Wichita, KS for 3 years. ...Expand for more
Shawn was a demonstration pilot for Bombardier flying Learjet aircraft. I stayed at home with Lauren. We lived in Poplar Bluff from 1993-1999. I taught school at O'Neal Elementary for 5 years. LOved it!! Before we moved back to P.B. we lived in Phoenix, AZ. I taught at a private elementary school as a kindergarten teacher. We loved the weather but missed the midwest (home)! And lastly, before our move to Phoenix, we moved from St. Peters, MO (in St.Louis) where we lived from August of 1992-July of 1993. The rest is history. Ha!
I graduated from SEMO in August of 1992 and married Shawn one week later.
I attended the 5 year class reunion. I really didn't think that anyone or anything had changed that much. I didn't go to the 10 year reunion. Did they have one? I wouldn't mind going to the 20 year reunion provided that someone contacts me. Hint. Hint. Oh My God!! That is next year. How scary. Sometimes I forget how old I am on the exterior, but time does stand still. Wow! Well I guess that is enough of me. I would be interested in hearing from any of my old classmates if anyone is interested. I feel kind of cheesy even writing this because this is kind of out of my element. Just no phishing or hacking. I am technologically challenged if you couldn't already tell. Well adios and take care. I guess this is how a life bio goes huh?
