Leslie's Story
2008 was quite a year... I became a grandmother (grandson was born in July and I was there for his birth), remarried (honeymooned in the caribbean for 17 days). Dick has 3 children and 5 grand daughters.His daughter and I taught together and she introduced us. Yes, I married my girl friend's father. :-) My oldest daughter (26) found a job (AmeriCorps) with benefits :-) and helped her move to Wyoming... Her Americorps obligation is over and she is now attending a Vet tech program in Yakima, WA. My youngest daughter (24)lives in California and is completing her Surgical tech program; her husband is a drill instructor with USMC and is stationed at Camp Pendleton.

I'm back to teaching in a junior high school teaching 3 classes of math. I enjoy teaching part time and having only 85 kids, but I still put in the same amount of hours grading and planning that I would teaching full time. Teaching keeps me young at heart.
I'm also working part time in my husband's pawn shop... I've met some very interesting people and found some great deals on jewelry. I will never shop in a jewelry store again. :-)
I've lived in the northwest for 16 years (Bremerton, WA) after I moved from Japan via Sc via FL; I worked with the DODDS system while living overseas.
I walked my first marathon 10/4/09 in Portland and finished in 6 hours; I'm hoping to do it again next year and shave off 15 minutes. My next bucket list will be the Seattle to Portland (STP) bike race.. 200 miles.
Dick and I are hoping to become snow birds in the next few years.
