Lewis's Story
Life
Left Staten Island in 1960 and moved to California. Stayed there for about 8 years and then followed a love interest to Cleveland Ohio . My life partner of 30 years died in May 2002 and so it is just me and the dog. I became a registered nurse and am semi retired. In March of 2005 I became fully retired and moved to Texarkana Texas with the dog. Life as a retiree became a little boring so I picked up a weekend RN supervisor job. Now have three new dogs, all shar-pei, the most intelligent animal I have ever owned.
UPDATE 05/05/202`1, still living in Texarkana, Texas. All life partners are now deceased so am living alone with 5 dogs in a 14 room house. d nursing there were very few men, now they are at all levels and men have contributed greatly to the nursing profession, Nurses are no longer the handmaidens of the doctors but work along side them as colleagues. Took awhile to get there, but the addition of men in nursing, accelerated the process. There were always a few, but all one had to say, hey doc, you stand to pee, just like me, so come down off that high horse your on, lol. Attribute a lot of my success in life to the excellent educational experience at Curtis High. They just don't have the caliber of teachers that we had in the late fifties.
update 12/ 05/2021, still living in Texarkana, Texas by self. Now down to 2 dogs, 3 passed away within a couple of months of each other. They, two of them were over 15 year, the other, a shar-pei died of kidney failure.
