Liana's Story
After high school, I continued my interest in biology, graduated from Michigan State University with a B.S. in microbiology in 1973 and obtained a Ph.D. in pathology in 1976 from the University of Illinois Medical Center-Chicago. I worked for 33 years as a research scientist (microbiologist/immunologist) for the U.S. government (Food and Drug Administration and the National Institutes of Health) and retired from federal service in 2007. istory of cord blood stem cell banking and working as a consultant for the US government, non-profit organizations and academic institutions.
I remain active playing cello in a chamber orchestra, weaving, sewing, knitting, hiking, and spending quality time with family and friends.
I've lived in Maryland in a suburban area of Washington, DC since 1979.
I wish all my CHS friends much happiness, good health and peace. Hope to see you at a class reunion in the near future.
