Lidia's Story
Life
Need not ask for more. God has been good. Proud to be part of "East Los Angeles Royalty." After graduating from Hammel Street School in 1971, I went on to Belvedere Jr. High School and graduated in 1974. In 1977 I graduated from James A. Garfield High. Inspired by some of the very best teachers, including Jaime Escalante from 1975 through 1977, I was ready to take on the world and its white colar industry. Having made the decision not to go to college, this was not an easy thing for a Latina to do back then. During all these years I have been very fortunate to have accertained knowledge and extensive experience in so many different industries I encountered. en 1992 and 1999, aside from my career, I worked as an independent advocate representing underprivileged and illiterate latinos, taking on government agencies and defending their rights to due process. Presently I am a Realtor and work side by side with my husband of 20 years who is a brilliant home builder. We have started our own developement business of 4 years, once again taking on another challenge in the rapid rising and expanding market of home builders. But my greatest blessing and most important achievement in my life, are my four children. Needless to say, they have been my inspiration and continue to be "the" greatest, most difficult at times, but the most important challenge in my life. And to this date, I will continue to take on any challenge that comes my way.
