Linda's Story
Here is my 25 things about me from my facebook page.
1. My favorite Beatles song is In My Life. It's the perfect song in every way.
2. I'm pretty shy. I find it really hard to call people and I don't like to talk about myself. It's much easier to communicate virtually for me.
3. I really love to dance. Sometimes though, I have this feeling I'm like Elaine from Seinfeld - I just THINK I'm a good dancer . . .
4. I'd like to be a vampire. Live forever, sleep days and awake nights - what could be better??? Right up my alley - except for the blood sucking stuff, of course.
5. Yes, I went to Woodstock. The REAL one. And I'm bummed that I can't find myself in the movie. And I've looked many times!
6. I wish I was better at Guitar Hero.
7. Some of my other favorite songs: Can't you hear me knockin' (Stones), Wanna Get Somethin Started (MJ), Heroes (Bowie)
8. Great rock movie seen lately that I highly recommend: Velvet Goldmine. Fascinating story based on Bowie, Iggy Pop, Brian Eno. About Brit Glam rock. Really neat!
9. My first career: Art student, painting. My second career: Registered Nurse. My third career: Account manager (production) at printing company.
10. My husband Kevin is a modern day Cyrano de Bergerac. He's not happy unless he's tliting at windmills.
11. I hate tequila shots, but I LOVE Margaritas!
12. The best shows I've seen live: Jimi Hendrix (5X), The Doors (Jim Morrison WAS God!), Lou Reed (opening act was Bruce Springsteen!!!), U2 (first US tour), James Brown, David Bowie, Stones, Squeeze, Talking Heads, New York Dolls, Ramones. Thinking back, I guess there are too many to mention! And then again, there WAS Woodstock . . .
13. When I was a single girl living alone in an apartment, I lived on canned whipped cream and pastry.
14. One of my summer jobs in Providence was working for a concert promoter Frank Russo. Not a nice guy, but a great job.
15. I am unapologetic about liking TV. I tivo Battlestar Galactica, Heroes, Lost, The Closer, Damages, Nip/Tuck, Desperate Housewives, Chuck, Fringe, Kyle XY, The Office, 30 Rock, CSI, ER, and of course, House. (I ha...Expand for more
ve a secret crush on Hugh Laurie's character - So deliciously rude arrogant and sarcastic! I'd HATE him in real life of course!). I also watch TrueBlood, Weeds and Dexter. So there!
16. I've read six books in the past 3 weeks. I really like to read. I hope my eyes hold out!
17. I like most kinds of music, even some rap and hip-hop. I even can tolerate a little bit of country! I actually have about 4 country tunes on my ipod. I used to have some musical hidden pleasures, cause it wasn't cool to like groups like Journey or Foreigner in my world, but I don't have use or time for that BS any more.
18. There aren't many things better than vacations that take you to the ocean. There is something essential about being near it. Since the human body is largely composed of sodium and H2O, I think it affects us chemically as well as psychically. Not to get all metaphysical or anything. I'm just sayin . . .
19. Given the choice of random or fate? It's always gonna be random.
20. I used to be a punk rocker. Leather, spikes, safety pins, etc. Hair dyed six different colors. Considering that was at the same time I was an RN, it was a pretty schizoid life!
21. I love my brother and sister-in-law so much. I wish they lived closer to me. My sister-in-law Nancy is the most wonderful person I know. She's smart, beautiful, kind and considerate. She is kind of my hero. I can't think of anyone else I would have chosen for my brother.
22. I always wish on the first star I see at night. It is kind of a personal superstition.
23. I HATE getting forwards in email. Especially at work. PLEASE don't forward crap to me about bad luck, sick kids, or political causes. PLEASE.
24. My husband Kevin snores. It really sucks. Interrupted sleep is not restful. At all.
25. Lastly, I'm gonna repeat what Greg of Greg and The Morning Buzz says in his 25 Things. It is absolutely true that you don't know what love is until you have a child. And the flip side of that is you don't know what fear is either. Alexz is the love of my life - and there's not a day that passes that I don't worry about her. But that's life.
