Linda's Story

Left LSU in 1965 when I married John Simonton, moved to Ruston, attended La. Tech 1 semester. Ha Had our daughter in 1966 and our Son in 1968. We moved to Oklahoma in 1967 where John was employed as a civilian Engineer at Tinker AFB. He worked there two years while we started our own business. He was the brains, and I was the brawn. We manufactured electronic products, marketed them, published a magazine, and were partners in the original distribution of Apple compputers. I had a small advertising agency for a while as well. John passed away in 2005 and I sold the business the following year and am now retired, if you can call it that. I built a new...Expand for more
home, designing and contracting it myself. I'm on the Board of Trustees of a local historic site as well as their secretary and am caring for my mother who is living across the driveway from me in her own home. My son lives in the former family home next door with his famiy and my daughter and husband live at our horse ranch 1/4 mile away. I participate in Jazzercise on a daily basis, loving the dance moves that keep me fit. These days I love to garden and tend all my own beds but the mowing just got to bee to much so I had to hire that out. One of these days, I'll write the great novel and paint pictures, like I thought I'd do when I was in school.
