Linda's Story
Life
2 Adult children: Crystal- married 2 yr to one of our pastors; degree in Elementary Ed; Work- Cust. Serv. Agent for a swim ware mfgs sales reps & their clients. Tesa has a degree in Sociology; is a Social Worker for the Developmentally Disabled & is a new mom of 4 mo. old Aurora (our perfect grandbaby).
I am happily married to Donn for 28 years. Donn has an MBA & is a self employed Food Commodities Broker. I have a M.S. in Human Nutr. & am a Registered Dietitian (R.D.) specializing in Diabetes, Weight Loss, Nutriceuticals & Healthful Living programs. We both enjoy supporting our church: Donn- is our Out Reach minister & board chairman, & I enjoy directing our Mustard Seed Choir (ages 6 yr to 6th grade), arranging musicals, etc., as well as organizing, publicizing & decorating the church & banquet rooms for special events. We have 3 dogs we I've rescued.
I enjoy family, friends, learning new computer programs (esp. graphics & photography) walks on the beach, being physically active, site seeing, the theater, ballet, concerts & nice evenings of fine dinning.
School
Loved interacting with friends, the music, art & drama classes, speech & debate teams, football & basketball games, school dances & getting my driver's license. Mr. Fallin had a lasting impression on me. Because of the Speech & Debate team act...Expand for more
ivities I am at ease in front of strangers, lecturing, organizing & planning seminars & teaching health care related programs.
Remember the Brazzill sisters when they would make the girls kneel in the halls to see if our skirts hit the floor & if they didn't, we would have to go home & change. Remember our elephant joke club.
Workplace
At present I am self-employed as a R.D./ Nutritionist. I do 'Free Lance work'. I specialize in Group Education/ Lecturer on various health related issues for Health Care Professionals & the Public; Individual Counseling; Nutrition Resource Consultant; Nutriceutical Resourcing & Weight Loss Management.
I have finished writing & producing a 12 week weight loss/ Mgt program ("Fit'n Livin It") which emphasizes long term behavior changes to help ensure that weight loss is permanent & encompasses the body, mind & soul. The last 3 group classes were very successful in changing behaviors & weight mgt.
I am now in the process in re-writing the program so it can be accessed via the internet & clients will be able to attend virtual classrooms & progress at their own pace.
2008 - I've have just accepted a part-time position as a Professor at MT. SAC, teaching nutrition. It is an exciting addition to my professional life, and it still leaves me time for my other interests.
