Linda's Story
I finally finished college after brief periods of time in Upstate New York and later western Virginia. My degree was in Chemistry and I put that knowledge to work at BayVet(later Mobay Animal Health and Bayer)idn the analytical methods development group.
I left there in 1988 and took a job in Honolulu as the Laboratory Manager of a private sector small business involved in litigation support and industrial hygiene, and analytical services. Took additional academic classes in industrial hygiene and began working in that arena. Loved living in Hawaii, and traveled/worked on all the outer islands.
The Big Island of Hawaii is my favorite place and the Kilauea Volcanoe is my favorite location. I've seen the volcano erupting at night with the lava flowing into the ocean and forming new land off the coast. I've walked next t...Expand for more
o flowing lava and felt the heat. This was a totally awesome experience.
I retired in 2007 and moved to the Branson area to be closer to family. I have one daughter and two grands. My granddaughter has finished college and is recently married. My grandson is starting college this fall.
My home/cabin is a fixer aka "the money pit" but it is on two acres with a 270 degree view of Table Rock Lake. I have deer, fox, turkey and, of course, rabbits in my yard. Beautiful sunrises and sunsets.
I work part time as a bookkeeper and spend the rest of my time working in the "pit" or making barnwood picture frames froom 100 year old wood in my complete wood workers shop.
Oh, I forgot there is always lots of grass to mow and plants to tend.
LIFE IS GOOD. I'm active, healthy and wake up everyday anticipating the days' adventures.
