Linda's Story
Life
I have been married for 18 years to Carlos Flores. I have two children: Nicholas 17 and Jane 13. We have lived in Elizabeth, NJ for the last 18 years, tho' I have lived all over NJ since I graduated HS.
Nothing exciting has happened except the usual life things.
Workplace
I have worked in everthing including McDonald's for Cooperative Education in HS. I worked in bank for a few years (remember Shadowlawn Savings and Loan?) and then went on ...Expand for more
to get my degree in Psychology and certified in gerontology. I worked with the Elderly for 10 years ending up as a Nursing Home Administrator. I left that field to work with the homeless. I've been doing that for the last 18 years. I work at the Elizabeth Coalition to House the Homeless as the director. My family and I live as superintendents of a hospitality house for the working homeless-much in the style of Dorothy Day. I really enjoy the work.
