Linda's Story
After I graduated, I went to Barstow Jr. College for 1 1/2 years. Then my dad became ill with cancer, and my mom was going to school to become a nurse. I had to quit and help out my mom. So the college got me a job with Mc Cormick /Van Dyke tire co. on main street. I was their bookkeeper and credit manager, then when I got off work there , I went to my other job at Carmels clothing store. My dad lasted about a year. Then I got married in 1967.
I have been married for 44 years. I have 2 sons, and no grandchildren. We lived in Grand Terrace, Ca. next to Loma Linda for close to 40 years. Being an only child, in 2006, I had to move in with my mom ...Expand for more
for 3 years and take care of her. She wanted to stay in her own home and ours was a 2 story. We sold our 2 story home and bought one right on the Colorado river. We had a vacation home in Lake Havasu for 10 years, then sold it . My husband loves the river and so do I except for about 3 months out of the year where you stay inside or in the water. Because Havasu got so busy, we deceided to move to Parker, Az.after my mom had passed. It is really a hic town with very little shopping and very few good places to eat, but it has no traffic and not alot of people. We have our own boat dock and a beautiful view. That is about the extent of my story.
