Linda's Story
Life
I worked at Texas Instruments for almost 10 years, then moved to Los Angeles where I worked for The Red Cross and USC. Lived on the East Coast for a few years before moving back to Texas in 1983 to begin what would be a 14 year career with The Dallas Morning News. Married, divorced and remarried in all the years in between. Since retiring in 1997 I've devoted my time to home, family and computers. My husband Bob is a retired chemist and we have two children, ages 24 and 19. After 35 years of living in the same house in Dallas, we moved in August 2007 to Bob's small hometown, 75 miles north. ventually got 'er done with my brother's and my sister-in-law's help. It's proven to be worth it. The quiet life is great, our son and daughter love living here, the schools are small, we know our neighbors, people here are friendly and wave to you whether they know you or not, there's no traffic stress and no place in town is no more than 4 miles away. Our son is developmentally disabled and we're trying hard to find a suitable residential facility where he can be happy, live as independently as he's capable of and reach his potential. Our daughter's now a sophomore in our town's college and will be transferring to a 4 year school next year. She's working toward her goal of being a teacher here in Texas.
