Linda's Story
Gosh, it's been a long time since graduation! I married a Texan right after graduating, and of course he moved me to Texas. (Texans don't live anywhere else for long.) I was married for 18 years and had 2 children, Eddy Coplen in 1972 and Angie Coplen in 1977. I have one granddaughter by my son. Her name is Hilary, and is 16 now. (She's at the age where you lock her in the closet until she's 52 years old). When I got divorced in 1990, I moved back to Lee's Summit for a year, then to Chicago for 2 years. When my granddaughter was born, my son became a single parent and called me for help, so I moved back to Texas to help him raise his little girl. Then I met my current husband, (13 yrs. ago), in Dallas, TX . We moved to Leander, TX 10 yrs ago, and got the surprise of my life! sident of the auxiliary was none other than Nita Lawson (formerly Nita Weddle) who I grew up with in Lee's Summit! What are the odds of 2 girls from a small town in Missouri winding up 30 years later in the same small town in Texas? I love Bingo, reading, fishing, and my 3 toy rat terriers (terrors) Rocky, Rosie and Thug. But I haven't had much time for any of them this last year because of all my duties as District President for the Ladies Auxiliary to the VFW. I have 16 auxiliary posts under me that I've been responsible for this last year. It has kept me hopping. Fortunately, my term of office ends, June 30th, and I can finally get back to the others. That's why I won't be able to attend the reunion this year....I was so disappointed....but the VFW state convention is at that time, and I'm on the council of administration. It's mandantory that I attend. So everyone send me pics!
