Linda's Story

Life I moved to the Denver area in April of this year (2009) and so far am really enjoying it. I've been a home health nurse for the last 18 years; I took some time off to play with my granddaughter since the move, but am looking for a job now that things are settled. I miss New Mexico -- the culture, green chile. Have been surprised to find that NM is more advanced than CO in some areas as well! I have 2 adult daughters; Shannon lives in Ruidoso and works for the Chamber of Commerce. Heather is married and had a baby girl (Mikayla)in January, 2009; they live in Denver. There is so much to do and see in the Denver area, and a lot to participate in once I retire (6 yrs 2 mos and...Expand for more
counting!). One of my favorite things to do is travel. I lived for 2 years in Germany during the early 70's, and got to go (on a budget!) from Germany to Spain. My dream trip would be a multi-month trip to New Zealand and Australia. Really want to see the mountains, the outback, and the opal mines at Coober Pedy. My hobbies are travelling, reading, watching old movies and doing things with friends. I also like to "rock hound" a little -- I have a degree in geology from UNM and think it's great to look for rocks and fossils. My favorite sport is ice hockey; I watch my favorite team (Colorado Avalanche) as much as I can. Will be able to go to their opener on Oct. 1st this year.
