Linda's Story
Life
I recently retired (2004) with Ford Motor Credit Co after working there for 30 years. I am now on my second career at a Ford dealership in a small community in McGregor, Texas. I sold my home in Dallas when I moved to Temple to be close to my mother and my granddaughters. My friends laugh at me because I have lived in so many places up and down I35. It's kind of like being in the military. After graduating from Cole in 1966, I went on to Texas A&I University in Kingsville and graduated in 1970. After college, I lived in Corpus Christi for 13 years and started my career with Ford in that city. I married, had 2 girls and divorced. After 13 years in Corpus, I transferred to Austin with my girls and worked for Ford Credit there. After 13 years in Austin, I got promoted to supervisor and was moved to Irving, Tx. I am blessed with good health and I work out pretty much every day. I enjoy the fact that my children are adults now and I just get to enjoy them.
I happened upon this website and thought it would be nice to visit with other "Coler's". Long ago I got rid of my yearbooks but now I wish I still had them to look at pictures.
School

ed me in college. I definately WOULD NOT want to do high school over again.
College
I'm glad I went (Texas A&I in Kingsville) even though I do not use my degree. I met many different people and made friends with people I never would have met otherwise. I lived in the dorm and had a great time there. I enjoyed living away from home and the 4 years I spent there went by fast. My favorite time was when my friends and I would go the the beach in Corpus Christi and get sunburned! That experience was the best time in my life and college I WOULD do over in a heartbeat.
Workplace
My years at Ford Motor Credit have been great! I started in the Corpus Christi office and worked there for 13 years. After Corpus, I got transferred to Austin and worked there for 13 years. Boy, did I like Austin! After Austin, I got transferred to Dallas, where I spent the last 4 years of my career. I worked my way up to Supervisor of Customer Services. I supervised a team of 10 employees. I was very challenged while in Dallas because supervising call center employees was a new concept to Ford Motor Credit because Dallas was the first call center in our history. My 30 years went by fast and I have alot of friends that I missed very much. I do, however, still get to see them when I go to Dallas to visit.
