Hi everyone! I hope you are all doing well. As for me, I've been blessed well beyond what I'd ever expected. I'm a wife, mother, and grandma, and I live in a very beautiful part of California. Here is, pretty much, the rest of my story from where I left most of you (at graduation): After high school I attended Amundsen-Mayfair Jr. College. I began as a PE major, but after I injured my knee, I changed to Kindergarten-Primary Ed. That's what I majored in when, after receiving my AA at Mayfair, I started at Northeastern Illinois State College. However, I was SO fascinated with psychology (and ANALYZING everybody) that I became a Psych. major (like ALMOST everybody!). After graduating with a BA in Psych., I worked in it for a few years. At one point I wanted to be a child psychologist. However, after realizing that I probably could not save the world and I didn't like the mental "health" system, I dabbled in some other things; waitressed, worked for a plant company at the Sears Tower, worked in a factory, and taught Adult Basic Ed. and GED for the Chicago City Colleges. After a while I realized that I liked teaching, and so I enrolled back at Northeastern in a master's program in Early Childhood Special Ed. Before I completed my first trimester in that, my husband, David, and I were surprised to find out that we were also in another kind of first trimester, looking forward to the birth of our first child, David III. It was then that we decided to move to San Diego where he would finish his MA in Social Work. Later we moved up to San Luis Obispo County, where Dave found a job working with the developmentally disabled. I enjoyed staying home with little David, and also with our daughter, Susannah, who was born at home two years after our son. Later I ran a daycare home, licensed for 6 children, including my own. When the children were in elementary school, I began working as an assistant teacher in a 2nd grade class, and later in special education classes.
