Life
Life's an interesting road. People come and go so do names and faces. Sure wish I'd kept better track of those yearbooks so I could actually tell if I do remember that name or not. I'm sure I've drifted into the same oblivion as most. But alas, my greatest accomplishment is my marriage, now 39 years strong and yes, toes can still curl which makes me smile to say. Yes, dirty old grandmother of 5, mother of 3, wife of only one, and architect of my own destiny. Couldn't stand high school, so I worked hard and graduated early. Thought those ball players were jocks and cheerleaders glory hounds, did that word exist. Now I think they were just doing things their way and enjoying it as I was. I didn't go to college except for pottery and play. I was a full blown hippy and proud of it. I traveled for a summer in a van and then started my family on same trip. then gave me five grandchildren. Was I successful anyway without that college education? You betcha. Retired at 50 - started a company that sells internationally have travelled the world for the last 20 years. I drive a mercedes, a big leap from that $250. ford I was able to buy after high school. I'm kind to kids and animals. Lost most of my mental pictures of people from high school. I live in Florida but make it back to Phx for mexican food and family in that order. I went by Camelback high school and saw a lot of changes. Gone is that horseshoe drive I waited many a time for a ride at. I do look fondly to the dress code, the fact I knew no one on drugs, didn't know anyone who dropped out of school or who didn't get some kind of training to be able to get a job. And that's about it about me, the 1967 tall skinny girl who was a quiet backdrop to all those jocks and cheerleaders.
