Linda's Story
Life
After graduation I delayed going to school and got married. I moved to Newport News, Virginia and later returned to Forest. I have 3 beautiful daughters and all of them are over 20. Unfortunately, I got a divorce and had to re-evaluate where my life was and where I was going. Enrolling in school was scary as 26 year old student, but it was what I needed to do for me.
As my youngest daughter turned 6 months old, I decided to enroll in Nursing school. Initially, I was an LPN and worked for one year at University of Missippi Medical Center. I continued to go to school and became an RN and worked at UMC for 7 years. I worked nights for 7 years and that became a little tiresome. I learned so much and saw so many things while employed at UMC. As a result of the hours and my three daughters being in school, I took a job in Forest at a dialysis unit for about 3 years.

and a half years. I continue to work in dialysis and am a clinical manager for a chronic hemodialysis facility. I have worked in dialysis for the past 11 and a half years. I enjoy the challenges and rewards that Nursing offers on a daily basis. I continue to strive to achieve higher and try to pursue all career opportunites that are of interest to me. I chose to move to Georgia for greater job opportunities as the jobs were very limited in Forest. Moving was really great for me, because it opened many doors for me that would have never opened had I remained at home.
Forest will always be home, but just not where I choose to reside. I visit frequently as possible, because my family still resides there.
Frequently, I wonder where is everyone and have only been able to stay in touch with very few people from school.
I am content with where I am, but continue to be the best that I can be. For this reason, I continue to explore all challenges and opportunities and welcome them.
