Linda's Story
My name is still Linda Mason! I took my maiden name back after I became divorced. All the plans, ideas, hopes, and dreams I had in High School have changed over the last 50 years. I guess most of us could say that. My biggest dream was to have a family and I have two wonderful sons of which I am very proud. They both have college degrees and are out in the workforce now paying taxes. I have a beautiful, wonderful 10 year, 10 month old grandson, Zachary, who is the absolute Love of My Life! Seeing things through Zach's eyes makes everything seem new and fresh again. My sons and my grandson are the greatest blessings I have had in my life.
The saddest experience I have had in my life was losing my Mother in 2008. When your Mother is gone, you really feel alone in this world.
I have lived my whole life in or near the Concord area, except for a year and a half in Omaha, Nebraska. In 2003, I moved to the Lake Norman area and I love it. I am now retired, so I no longer make a daily trip to Allstate Insurance Company in Charlotte, where I Was a Sr. Staff Analyst for Financial Accounting. I also worked for several banks and in the school system as a teacher's aide for kindergarten through fourth grade when my children were young.
Over the years I have taken "Shag" lessons - several times.....I Love Beach musi...Expand for more
c. I have a Townhome at North Myrtle Beach. It is really relaxing and restful to spend time there. I love the mountains too....particularly when there is a waterfall that you can hike to. I learned to Square Dance a few years ago and find that very enjoyable. There is a great square dance club in Mooresville...."The Spinning Moors".
I have taken some amazing trips with my family and friends. The most beautiful place I have ever been is definitely Hawaii and the most amazing place I have ever seen is the Grand Canyon. I would love to travel a lot more now...particularly Alaska, but I also like to curl up in front of the fire and spend evenings at home. I love to decorate. At some point in my life I have probably done every type of needlework and craft there is....I like to create things: I love board games, card games....particularly Bridge. Some computer games with my grandson.
Friends I see from High School still recognize me when they see me...but I have changed-I am more mature now. I plan to put a picture of me with my grandson on the site soon. I appreciate the things in life that really matter: God's Goodness, Family, Friends, Nature, Good health, Truthfulness, Trust, Faithfulness, Loyalty, Hope, and Love. I think my best years are yet to come and I am looking forward to the rest of my life!!!
