Linda's Story

I went to Oroville High School, "Class of 72"...Back then my last name was Mathis, not Buchanan. I now live in Oregon. I was born in Porterville Ca, and my parents moved to Oroville when I was just a baby. I lived there till I was 18 years old when I married Geary Buchanan and moved to Modesto Ca. Then we moved and moved and moved somemore... Geary loved to move. I am sure he was part Gypsy. We have two sons. My eldest works for Intel, my youngest lives with me. He had cancer and still has epileptic seizures. Geary and I were married in July of 72 and divorced in April of 2002, though we were separated in 1999. We were married 27 years, he left me for someone else. He has since remarried. I probably never will. I am a christian woman and I love people, all people really. I don`t think I have ever met a stranger. I take care of my son Cory, who is now 32. Not necessarily an easy life, but our children do not ask to be here. And it is a small sacrifice to take care of someone you love. Not really even a question for me. I plan on writing a book called, "Knocked Down, But Not Out", The story of Cory Buchanan and The Wall of Fame"...I am the great procrastinator however and need a kick start it seems. There`s so much I could say but won`t, don`t wish to bore anyone who has taken the time to read my post...Thank you for that .... Linda~ Here are some of the Q and A`s everyone can opt to either answer or not, I thought it was kinda fun. I`ll never forget my first kiss. I always wanted to be a singer/actress when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a silly idea. As it turns out, they were right.... Believe it or not I play video games with my son Cory, I`m not very good but I beat Zelda, Twilight Princess in less than a month on the Wii when it first came out! I have three hero`s actually, Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior, my son Cory who is fighting cancer and also seizures almost daily, he never has a (bad) day, in his opinion, He is glad to be alive. My third hero is my other son who has been a rock through all of his brothers illness. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Darby Miller, because I loved him, I still love him. But that is not possible he was murdered in 1977 .... I love doxies, I am going to be getting one later this month or in early March. I also love "Survivor", I wish I had what it takes to do that, but I think it best that I watch from the comfort of my living room. The crazies thing I ever did was in High School. We, my friends and I were all sitting on the lawn and a spider crawled up my dress, and I screamed and just pulled my dress over my head. At the time it seemed like the right thing to do. No, life doesn`t always turn out the way we planned. My youngest had cancer of the brain and suffers seizures and my husband left me for another. If I could improve my home, I'd remodel my bathroom and add on a huge kitchen with an island in the middle. My dream home would be on an island far, far away from here.. That they did not ask to be here. (they never said that too me)bu...Expand for more
t as I stated earlier, life can throw you some curves and you just have to be there for them no matter what. My children are the most important thing on this earth to me. I would love to see my Choir teacher Mr. Christiansen again. He was the best teacher I ever had. If I won $100 million, I'd give 15% of it to Church, then spend the rest on my children, my family and then invest some and travel. And I`d live on a hill overlooking the ocean.. To be truely happy, I would be in Heaven with all those that have gone before me. There is only peace there. My current age is 56. When I was 12, I thought that people my age now would be ready for the bone yard. I was so completely wrong...well sometimes I fill I could have been a little right..lol. What happened to my first crush, well now I wish I knew. He was the most handsome guy I ever saw. All I can say now about that is his first name was Pat and his last name began with an H... My best friend would tell you I'm silly and loving and giving, but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as happy all the time.. Well if you mean jeans, yea, but I don`t wear those mini skirts and fish net stockings with clogs..I don`t paint flowers on my face anymore either. lol :) The weirdest job I ever had was I washed dishes for a greasy spoon for one whole afternoon. The dishes just kept coming and coming and...needless to say, I never went back after that ..... I share my home with my son Cory, which I find hard sometimes but I wouldn`t be doing anything else. He is very ill.. I use to...I won a couple in Choir way back in 72. Do-overs, if I could only have one..That`s tough. I have made alot of mistakes in my life. I guess the loss of my marriage. I would have done things differently on my part. On his, well I could do nothing to change that ... In 10 years, I hope to be in Heaven. I'm going to get there by the wings of Angels.. That`d be my best friend Norma, in H.S. We were opposites in many ways but I never had so much fun with anyone else over the years. I laughted more back then. I have no idea. I`m not much different in many ways. More mature I suppose and I have my faith in God that no matter what happens here, there`s a better place waiting for us. My first job was at The Dunes Motel in Boise Idaho, it was huge and a beautiful Hotel, where I got paid supervise and to make sure all the rooms were in order. What I remember most about it is I met alot of really neat people that stayed there.. I`ll never forget my grandfather taking me camping every summer. And I`1l never forget all the times we went fishing for catfish at night and frog gigging. Ha, I can`t believe I did that ...the frogging I mean..yuk. :P How do I hope a friend remembers me...I hope they remember me as caring, giving, happy, ( a wee bit silly) honest, loving, and a person who stood up for the less fortunate in life. If you wish to contact me, I am on face book also on Yahoo Messenger, lindabuchanan1972 .....look me up if you wish. Thank you for taking the time to read my story. To be continued....
