Linda's Story
Life
I have 2 sons & 3 grandsons ages 9 , 7 & 1. I never thought that I would like being a mother (which I did), let alone love being a grandmother. Those 3 little boys are my life! The world revolves around them and they know it. I was there for all the births. What an experience!! I love watching them learn new things, especially something that I've taught them.
My daughter-in-law is wonderful! She is smart, funny, creative and beautiful!! She doesn't take any crap from anyone either! Her family is pretty great also.
My ex-daughter-in-law is great also! She is also smart, funny, creative and beautiful! She also has a great family! I don't get to see her as much as I used to and I miss her very much.
I never thought that my sons would be as good a father as they are. they are really awesome with those kids.
My husband is an awesome grandpa! He is definitely a hands-on grandpa. He teaches the kids so much. He is a much better grandpa than he was a dad. I think it's because he knows what's going on now.
I enjoy doing many different types of crafts. My favorite is painting (any thing) and refinishing furniture. I collect teapots and Barbie dolls. I just like to go to thrift shops and buy Barbies and dress them and put them on a shelf in some kind of scene.
I have a dollhouse that I got from a thrift store that I am repairing. It wasn't put together very well and...Expand for more
then it was forgotten in a garage or shed. It is a victorian house so I am researching how to decorate it in the period.
My latest venture that my husband shares with me is rock hounding. We started in '08 by going to North Carolina to dig for gems. We got the idea from a tv show on the Travel channel called "Cash Treasures". We've also panned for gold in Georgia, dug for Tourmaline in San Diego & Amethyst in Colorado & we've been around the state of Arizona for many different types of rocks & minerals. My goal is to go to every state to dig for the gems & rocks pertaining to their area. The funny thing about this hobby is that I really don't like the outdoors. But there's something calming about searching & digging for rocks & gems. It's a great stress reliever!
Paul is my 2nd husband. We've been married since '83. My oldest son is from my 1st marriage but Paul adoped him and raised him as his own. I was lucky enough that his family considers my son as one of the family also. Now if we could only get them to feel the same way about me!
We moved to the Phoenix area in '87 and have never regretted it. We just got tired of the Chicago cold & snow! My parents and Paul's parents & sister have followed us out here. My parents live 2 doors down from me, which is really good, I don't have to drive anywhere to go over & help them if I have to.
All in all, my world is good.
