Linda's Story
I cook alot and have my own catering business because mainly my baby daughter is handicapped and because of her illness I am not able to got to a job and work anymore because her daycare would now be adult care. I have 5 beautiful grandchildren and the 6th one on the way. I have held very important jobs in the past but I actually enjoy cooking very much and even if I do say so myself I am a very good chef. I am still relatively young at heart and health wise and consider myself blessed for that. I miss having a lot of friends like I used to but my daughter has prevented a lot of social activity in the past and I am hoping to change that. I was very shy in school but had a group of close friends. I can be outgoing once I get in the flow, but it takes a while especially since I am a bit out of practice. I hope that is the way people remember me because in reality the only thing that has really changed about me is the fact I don't have as much trouble talking to people as I used to.
I recently went back to school in October 2009. I am going to the University of Phoenix/Online Axia College. I am going for an Associates Degree in Business Arts. udent. I am having great fun, and enjoying being brought up to date on things. I love music and I always studied by music so I get to do that again. I hope to start a non-profit organization to help kids like my daughter Jessica when they reach 21. The go to people for services seems to dry up for young handicapped adults. I have already started this project with a special Olympics director, an activist Mom for the deaf, and a prominent Dallas psychiatrist. Wish me luck guys and stay in touch.
I always wanted to be a writer when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were righ.
I always wanted to be a beautician when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a great idea. As it turns out, they were right.
My Hero is my daughter Jessica. She is handicapped and goes through so much everyday. She is my inspiration, and my reason to get up everyday and do more than my best.
The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Terry Elliott, because he was my best friend and I loved him. He passed away a few years back at the ripe old age of 49 alone and out of town. I miss him everyday..
My best friend would tell you I'm outgoing and never afraid to try anything once., but people who don't know me very well would probably describe me as snobby or shy.
