Linda's Story
Hi! 1965 to now is a long time. I started working shortly after high school in graphic arts and did that most of my working life in one form or another. I got married in 1968 and was married until my husband's death in 2009. We lived in several places, most of it in Northern California. Sold our home and moved into a travel trailer and wandered the western states for about three years. We purchased a home in Hermiston, Oregon to use as a home base for travels and a year later my husband died. I didn't like being so far from family while alone so I moved closer to friends and family. I'm living in Ashland, Oregon now, it's a great little town with lots of culture and slightly different people.
As I said I spent most of my working career in the graphic arts field. I worked for in-store advertising departments, print shops, newspapers and Phoenix magazine while we were in Phoenix, A...Expand for more
rizona for schooling. I ended my working career with Turtle Bay Exploration Park in Redding, California. I started working for them doing quarterly publications but that job morphed into being Administrative Assistant for Programs and Education. It was a great place to work and it's a wonderful museum. I was never blessed with the opportunity to have or raise children but I am close with several nieces and nephews that are scattered from Hawaii to Southern California to Germany.
Of all the things that I've done in my life I am enjoying being retired the most. I am able to go to many live music events - mostly Blues, Jazz and Latin. I have many friends in the local music scene. I hope to get involved with programs that help bring music instruction to the younger generation.
Life is short, enjoy where your are and take the time to enjoy all that God has created.
