Linda's Story

September 7, 2011 Dear Everybody, I enjoyed the reunion and then enjoyed an art camp in Wooster, Ohio where I learned a little about painting on fabric and a very little about quilts, followed by sightseeing in Chicago with friends. I'm back at work and would like to keep in touch but not through this Classmates site, which I just realized is charging me $15 per month to be on here. I cancelled that full membership and will have just a free listing as of early November. You can reach me by the contact information gathered by the reunion committee. This Classmates web site will not allow it to be posted (sorry). Hope to stay in touch. Linda Hi, The last (and only) reunion I attended was the 25th. At that time we were trying to get pregnant but sadly that did not occur. Nevertheless I have found satisfaction in being a "good aunt" to a few of the next generation. Since I last saw you I have had a wonderful time doing many athletic things such as 500 mile bike rides, triathlons, aerobic half time shows for the Bulls a...Expand for more
nd the Bears for fundraising and a one mile swim in Lake Michigan each summer to raise money for cancer research. I have also had arthritis in my knees for 20 years and was able to do my last triathlon in 2006 before the impact of limitations in range of motion made it impossible to run. I've been busy with other things since then, including finishing my PhD at the University of Chicago in 2006 and discovering that, alas, no matter how impressed with your credentials universities may be, they don't want to hire someone my age into a tenure track position (where the research money is). Right now I'm working to regain some range of motion and will see about possible knee surgery in the future. I love my city of Chicago and enjoy free concerts in Grant park, the DuSable Museum of African American History, the Art Institute and other things. I still enjoy art and writing though I did not make a career of either. I am still working full time and re-growing my private practice. That's what I've been up to -- how about you? Linda

I'm turning away from you but I am not moving
My new welcome mat
Good morning. 'We have commandeered the bed and no, there is no room for you" "think again - I control the can opener"
"I pose, therefore I am."
You wonder what we might be up to? We are innocent. Don't we look innocent?
Move over garbage bag - I want to be in this box. Doesn't my human know that all boxes are mine!
Sleepytime.
Great day. Spent afternoon at an outdoor cafe with my friend Amber. Sooooo happy to finally be out in the sun after all the weeks confined. Amber gave me a book for my upcoming birthday and O.B. has just taken up residence
Gimme my toy! Do NOT sweep it up with the trash just because you were on a cleaning mission this weekend.
Just a little meme to keep things in perspective.
Thank you my human fir getting this bag out of your car. I love this bag
So nice to have fluffy clean sheets fresh out of the dryer, and my human had someone take pictures if her almost dry hair today so she could have pictures to show her new stylist when she gets her first haircut with him on
