Linda's Story

After graduating from A.Central in 1970, I attended CSU where I was a Chi Omega. I student-taught at Gateway and ultimately ended up at A.Central where I was the Silver Boot coach for 1 year and Girls Swimming coach for 5. I helped open Rangeview in (83). I married Eric (teacher at ACHS & Gateway in 85) After 21 years at Rangeview HS-(30 total)..teaching US History and Psychology, I decided to retire to spend full time with my kids and all their activities. I still sub at Rangeview and Gateway (Eric is still teaching). It is fun to see old friends and kids are kids....they are still fun! I spends hours a day on the Internet, I hate to say. I read and read and read.... (I never did in high school, except in Mr. Nykerk's class) so I am making up for lost time & sometimes I blog. I am interested in reading about death and dying....Animal rescue is also to close to my heart. I really enjoyed the "election" this past year and volunteered my time. I am getting more political with old age! I loved going to the Inauguration! Having lived through the 50's and having taught Civil Rights all those years and to witness history unfold, was so exciting. To see so many people so so happy, was very emotional...& AMAZING! I was charged for weeks about the human spirit. I have really gotten into photography, digital photo books, (I love my Mac), slideshows and I am finally doing my kids scrapbooks. dies" person wanting to see and study the intriguing culture and quirks of society. After our kids finish college, our goal is to travel world and help those in need. To My Students: (1976-2004) I often stop and think about the times at ACHS & RHS and how much fun it was to spend time with you. My hope is that you are all having a great life....I hope your roads have led you to where you wanted to go.... amongst its the bumps, turns, & forks. Those put us to the test us & make us stronger! I continue to cross paths with many of my "former students" and it so fun to see all the great things you are doing! I see many "formers", whose children are in school with mine. (Wow...I am old!) Reconncecting is great fun....especially if I can remember your name... & better yet, the year I had you! :) I hope your "life after high school" has provided you with many new & worthwhile experiences! May your troubles be less, Your blessings more & may nothing but happiness come through your door! Remember Freud Rocks and History is a Blast from the Past! I believe that: "No friendship can cross the path of our destiny without leaving some mark!" Please stay in touch! :) To my fellow Trojans..(1966-1970) Thank you for sharing the best of times and the worst of times....can you believe we made it through high school during the turbulent 60's? Nobody said life would be easy..... they just promised it would be worth it! Our 40th is almost here.... Blessings and Hugs All Around! Linda Stroud Chin
