Linda's Story
Life
In 1967 I married fellow classmate, Gary Sharratt. We have been married 34 years this October 27th. We have two boys now grown and with our two grandchildren.
After graduation I was asked to work for KOMO-TV/Radio and stayed with them for 10 years. Gary's folks had a business in Kodiak Alaska and they called us to come up and watch it for a few months. We took a leave from our jobs and fell in love with the people of Kodiak Island, in Alaska. We then bought their business. We've been in Alaska 23 years. I became a policewoman here in Kodiak and then took a position with the State of Alaska as a Case Mgr out of Juneau. I am now retired (early..yippee!)and back in our home in Kodiak. Gary built our 3911 sq ft home off the ocean with 6 bedrooms, 3 full baths and 3 floors..what a house to keep up tho!! 1 week!We now live on the 17th hole of the golf course there in a much smaller home where I don't have quite the cleaning to keep on! Golfers BEWARE! Gary has been an accountant for many years now and is turning silver!! Such a handsome dude!
Our oldest son, Brandon and wife, Melissa stayed in Juneau with his very successful business and their children.
Our son Ryan, presently in his 2nd year in college at the University of Fairbanks. His goal is a U.S. Marshall. He's just past his Alaska Trooper psych test, physical and aptitude test with flying colors. He's at the present on standby in Fairbanks on the terrorist war.
Christmas '01 bulletin...now hear this...our baby...just informed us that he is to be married December 28, 2002. My how time flies when you're having fun!
UPDATE.... retirement lasted 3 months with me here in Ocean Shores..I was just asked to be Marketing and Sales Director for Best Western Hotel/Lighthouse Inn here in Ocean Shores.
