Linda's Story
Where do I start...so many years have passed...can we all really be hitting the big 50?
Memories of Madison and all my classmates throughout the years are still imprinted on my mind...I guess as Dorothy would say..."There's no place like home."
I left Madison a little over a year after I graduated and headed to California...a dream for a little girl who lived on Iowa Street.
My working experience somehow led me into working for Oil Companies...another reason that took me to California as I took a transfer out here.
In 1982 I met and married my Prince Charming...his name was Ed. We had a wonderful life together...were a perfect match and had so much in common. He loved coming to Madison and visiting with my Grandma which we frequently did. My life with him consisted of alot of travel - we were always on the go.
I didn't have children but raised 3 stepchildren...son lives in the area and the two girls live in Utah.
In 1992 he was diagnoised with ALS and I lost him in one year. A terrible disease that knows no age.
I have not remarried and still living in Carmel Valley,...Expand for more
CA. I live in the country, numerous animals, contantly doing construction on my home (this is the third I've remodeled) and try and travel still. I have a business in LA and am lucky enough to be retired for the most part.
I'm in touch with many friends from High School and am proud to call them my lifetime friends...even though so far away, we feel so close.
I was glad to grow up where I grew up and as history reveals itself to me, it was where I was supposed to be at that time. Many good lessons were taught to me that have last throughout my life and in more way's than I would like to admit, were my "rock" during the hard times in my life.
I am not sure that I've made great accomplishments, or have done anything to change the world. But I know, that I've touched peoples lives as so many have touched mine. My charitable works bring me great inner pleasure...both big and small little acts of kindness.
So to those of you who have passed through my life, I hope that your experiences have been sweet to you and that your surrounded by good family, special friends and love.
