Linda Challberg:  

When I got out of high school I worked in the cannery to pay my way through MJC and graduated with an AA degree in Business. I then married Bruce Challberg from Hilmar whom I met at MJC, he then joined the Navy and when he finished boot camp and a year of training we married in 1970 . He was then stationed in San Diego where we moved for 4 years when he got out, then we went to San Jose where he got a job in Electronics and we had our first son in 1978 , we were there for 10 years and the company transferred him to San Diego, in the mean time we had our other 2 sons in 1980 and 1983 . In 1984 we went back to San Diego again for 10 years when he was laid off there, we sold the house and came back to the valley. We landed in Denair and have been there for the last 19 and half years. I went to work for the Denair Unified School District and stayed for 17 years winding up being the head of the Food Services Department before I retired in 2010. Bruce wound up working in San Jose, staying with his sisters family during the week and coming home on the weekends. The boys all grew up and the oldest works with glass etching in Santa Cruz, he is married, our middle one works for Hilmar Cheese , he is married with our first and only granddaughter, and our last one has managed Jack-n-the-Boxes all over the valley, he seems to be able to fix the failing stores, as of now he has been in Oakhurst for the last 7 years managing that store, he is not married at this time, but we are waiting!
