Linda's Story

I was pretty quiet and low profile in high school. I live in Clearwater, KS and recently retired from a nursing career. I have worked as a Travel Nurse around the states in many areas and finally settled into Research for the last 8 years and although I'm retired, I still work PRN. I love to write children's books and have 3 published in a series called "Toado and Friends." I also just published my first novel, "The Divorceketeer Club." ( Pronounced like musketeer) I have a registered trademark on Divorceketeer, but Classmates won't allow me to put that symbol in. It is now out on audio. You can download it at Audible.com. A Divorceketeer is simply anyone who has survived divorce. I'm currently trying to market Divorceketeer. I remarried a wonderful man last year. It took us 11 years to the date to tie the knot. We just got back from a 2 month honeymoon in Alaska this past July 2014. My husband is an electrician/owner of Tri County Electric but his passion is gold mining. So our trip to Alaska included a lot of gold panning. George and his partner have been mining their claim in Alaska for the last 3 years. I spend a lot of t...Expand for more
ime writing about his gold mining adventures in the middle of nowhere. I invite everyone to check out: thegoldprospectors.blogspot.com. You can follow their adventure. Classmates apparently won't allow me to mention websites. They are also on Facebook. He and his partner, Dave, have a much better story than the gold mining shows airing now. They have comedy and adventure instead of all the drama and conflict. My Facebook page is under Linda Wilson Brooks. I didn't know much about it and I have George's gold mining Facebook group attached so I haven't got all that figured out. With my first marriage I had 3 beautiful children, 2 boys and a girl, but lost one of our son's at 4 ½ months. My "life education" began after my divorce. After a lot of trial and error I finally met George in 2002. We now have 13 grandchildren between us. I am a 10 year breast cancer survivor but I don't make it my cause or give my scars much thought or energy. I have designed the best breast cancer T-shirt for anyone who is interested. I am anxious to start catching up with all my friends since I'm "retired," and have so much free time. You know?
