Linda's Story
Life
The keyword in my life has been "travel." Anyone who knew me when I was growing up knows that my dream was to see as much of the world as possible. Luckily, I was able to find jobs that would pay me to live and work abroad. I followed a career as secretary and medical transcriptionist in Memphis with over 7 years as an expatriate employee in Saudi Arabian hospitals. a Foreign Service secretary. Assignments have taken me to Tanzania, Philippines, The Netherlands, Madagascar, Pakistan, Laos and my current assignment in Sofia, Bulgaria.
A Foreign Service career isn't for everyone, I know, but it is perfect for me. I've met and worked for some amazing people and served my country in the process. I've also been around the world three times. Everyone should be so fortunate to live their dream.
