Linda's Story
Linda is from Graysville, Alabama. She graduated from Minor High School in 1962. Linda retired from Alabama Power Company in June 2006 after serving 25 years and 11 months as Executive Secretary in the Corporate Finance & Planning Department. She retired in order to stay at home after her loving husband was diagnosed with Alzheimer's & Parkinson's diseases in 2005. Also, immediately after retirement, she underwent her second back surgery. Linda was determined to recouperate in order to take care of her "Buddy", as she called him...and she did. Neither of them wanted any part of the nursing home. She wanted him to be at home with her.

him and my best friend through our 44 years together. He went to live with the Lord on November 21, 2013. We had just celebrated our 44-year anniversary July 3, 2013. I miss him so much. I never thought I could ever live without him and I have such a void in my heart. I think he took part of it with him. He was such a good man and there's no doubt his loving me was mutual. I can't remember one day during our 44 years together that he didn't tell me how much he loved me. It never seemed that there were 9 years' difference in our ages. We enjoyed each other every minute of our 44 years together. He was 78 July 30, 2013. I know he watches over me and the Lord is with me every day. I know I will eventualy accept his leaving me, but some days it seems as if I never will. Every day I pray for strength for my heart to heal, and I know eventually it will. I just don't know when. I ask you, my friends, for your prayers to help me to heal and make it through these hard times. I love you all."
