Linda's Story

Life I have had a pretty interesting life. It has been an adventure. There was happiness and much sadness. My happy times mostly involved my children. I have 4. From the moment I held them in my arms my life had meaning. They have grown up to be the kind of adults I can be friends with. I was very lucky. There were no drugs. My oldest was in Dessert Storm but praises he came home. I did full time daycare when my children were home and I always took in sewing. I am very much a homemaker. At present my honey and I are building a new home in Roseville. I have bought and sold about 12 homes but this is the first attempt at doing our own contracting. It is going pretty well. It took 9 months to get to the starting point but the cement should be poured this week. I lived in New Mexico, Okinawa, Oregon, and different cities in Ca. I have been in this area for 14 years. I really like it here. I am within 2 hours of just about anything I could ever want to do. The growth here in the past 14 years has been tremendous. I wouldn't mind returning to the beauty of Oregon but not without my children. I look forward to being a grandmother with much excitement but so far it looks as though I will have a long wait. I was married 4 times. I had one 18 year marriage. I could write a book on the other marriages. At present I am marriage phobic. I am not sure if I ever want to do that again. Too much heartache. I have been with my present Honey for 3 years. We met on the internet and are the best of friends. We enjoy dancing, get togethers with friends, table games, home improvement, gardening {I have beautiful flowers} dining out, walking our dog named Angel, and watching movies. I would be happy to hear from anyone. 1 year later.........We moved into the home we had built. It is still "A work in progress". Lots of painting and yard work to do, but we love it.............. 11/05 Still working on the house, but now really great news. FINALLY! A grandchild on the way in April. Yeh! We took a cruise last month. So much fun, what can I say. Life is going very well. 6/06 I got my granddaughter. She is wonderful! I love her so much and feel very lucky that my son and daughter-in-law are such wonderful parents. She is a very loved little girl. We are still working on our home. It's a nice hobby. Oh, yeh, I finally said yes to my honey and married him last Dec. We've been together 6 years now. Life is good. 10/07 We just moved to Vancouver, Washington. It is beautiful here. I miss the beautiful home we built and some wonderful friends we left behind, but not the weather in Sacramento. My granddaughter moved to Oregon in March. I always told my kids,"if one of you moves to Oregon, I am going too". Well, I'm close. Just over the bridge. I love the North West. I hope my other children follow us soon. 12/07 We are getting settled in our home and making new friends. This is a beautiful place to live. Last month we took a drive up the Columbia River Gorge. WOW! Such beauty! We have enjoyed the city sights of Portland, also. Portland is an awesome city. Best of all, I have gotten to spend time with my granddaughter. She is the delight of my life. By this time next year I will have another grandchild. Life is good! 5/08 Yeh!!! Another granddaughter. She is beautiful and her big sister is happy to have a baby at home. Children make like worth living. 1/09 My, Time does fly. It's been a busy 8 months. I started a new business. I sell Hairmagicusa hair-combs. Check out my website. It's hairmagicusa.com. My husband and I have our own window and siding business also. Business is going pretty good considering the economy. We got another granddaughter but unfortunately she lives far away in S.Ca. Joe went to see her but I haven't gotten to see her yet. She was born in Sept. I had some big wonderful surprises this year. My #2 son moved here and brought a new family. I have two new step children. YEH! More the merrier. [A six year old girl and a ...Expand for more
four year boy]They are great. The second surprise is another girl due in March. It's funny, I had three boys and then a girl. Now I will have 5 granddaughters and only one grandson. I had a wonderful Christmas season with the children. We spread out Christmas as we had a wonderful snow [GORGEOUS!!} this year and were stuck at home for Christmas day but at least the son who just moved here came with his sweety. The kids had gone to Ca. for Christmas so no children. Then on Sat. after the snow cleared we took off and spent time in Astoria with the Granddaughters. Such fun. I actually have one more Christmas to go with the other two who have returned from Ca. but am sick so in a day or two. Then sadly Christmas decor will be put away. I got to meet with a fellow classmate, Molly Eddings when I was in Eugene. Nice person! I have gotten to spend some time this year with my classmate and best friend Linda Brunick [Harris]plus we spend hours on the phone. I found her through classmates and she is only 45 minutes away in Oregon. Yeh!!!! Happy 2009 everyone!!! 5-31-18- Wow! I just read this. Nine years have gone by. Life changes. We are still in Washington and still married. WE live on the Columbia river. Feel blessed. I work from home with online sales. Ebay, Amazon and Bonanza. I am very much a home body so works great for me. We have 10 grandchildren now but sadly don't get to see any of them. Thank goodness for Skype and Facebook. We still have our dog. She is 16 years old. Love her so much. She has been the best dog ever. Sadly can't make the reunion. No time or money. I am hoping to see photos posted. Please share your photos. Have a wonderful time. April 2023---Wow time sure flies. We still live in Washington. I love the Northwest. My husband and I still do online sales and just branched out to renting space at a Vintage and Antiques Shop. It is fun. It will very soon be time for working in the yard and growing flowers. I now have my daughter living near. I am VERY happy about that. We had her little dog living with us for a year. We love that little dog. She is back with my daughter now and always is very happy to see us. We lost our dog about 3 years ago. She was 17 1/2 years old. We still have our beautiful cat. He is such a sweetheart. I have enjoyed getting in touch with fellow classmates on Facebook. I guess I should go to the reunion. I really hate traveling. I am a homebody. I do soon want to go see my son, daughter in law and grandson in Sacramento area. Maybe May.. I hate hot weather..LOL I have 11 grandchildren now. I have to be a long distance grandma though. Sad. Thank goodness foe the computer world that keeps us close. I do feel blessed to have stayed in good health. My husband has had bladder cancer a few times but the Dr keeps close watch and gets it out quickly. We both stay very busy. Will probably never stop working. We both enjoy being busy. Joe has a small gutter guard business. He enjoys selling and praises, he found and excellent installer for the gutters and gutter guards. Then we still work together on our online stores. We love thrift shopping together. We moved to a new home about 3 years ago. We love our neighbors and the neighborhood. We started a facebook page just for our neighborhood. It is amazing how many are from California. My immediate neighbors are all awesome. The one next door keeps his yard absolutely perfect. He likes to bake and occasionally drops off home baked goodies to us. LOVE IT! The couple across the street are Chinese and she brought me the best spring rolls I ever ate. It is very quiet at night here. Love it. My picture here was taken at the Pittock Mansion in Portland at Christmas a few years ago. Well that is my update. If anyone wants to friend me on facebook my last name is VERY rare so easy to find. My husband is half Italian and at ellis island the name was changed from Iosso to Yosso. I like having a rare name. Until I update in another few years LOL Tootles
