Linda's Story
Life
I have always liked the outdoors so when I finaly graguated (so many years ago) I ran off and worked in the backcountry of N. CA. I flaked my way through Jr. college and never graduated, (I was on the 6 year plan) and in 1995 I finnaly got serious and quit . I decided that wandering was a drag so I transfered from wilderness ranger to wildland firefighter, a very good choice on my part. I took a perminant posion on the Angeles National Forest. e an engineer. Not a real engineer, I drive fire trucks and pump water to all those burning hillsides you see on the news.
I am married to a wonderful guy I met in 1986, and we have lots of fun visiting my brothers kids. I am working at fox field, at the tanker base because I broke my knee in march, not a good thing for a person in my line of work, however, I am doing fine. I hope to be back running an engine soon, so when the hillsides are burning and the santa annas are blowing I will be there.
